Karina is a landscape artist living and working in Dorset. She creates atmospheric and expansive landscapes that explore the transience of light in nature, dusk and dawn especially. The subtle shifts of colour and tone in her work seek to capture the emotion of a passing moment of time, a remembered place or feeling. Karina works with a limited palette in each painting, gradually building veils of colour until a luminescence and an internal glow is reached. Karina’s work is influenced by the American tonalists, where the harmonious blending of colour creates softly-edged and atmospheric landscapes that evoke a deep, emotional response. Through the layers of light and depth in her painting, Karina aspires to evoke in the viewer an immersive moment of connection, memory and stillness.

It is clear your response to your surroundings are reflected in your work , I see that beauty and so admire your ability to reproduce the emotion one feels in a painting , that I believe is an exceptional and rare skill.
— D. Richardson
